Is it Safe? Are we talking about safe from crime, safe from animal attacks, or safe from disease? Regarding crime...read this blog I wrote: https://www.boonesafaris.com/post/kenya-is-too-dangerous. Regarding animal attacks...it is highly unlikely you would be injured by the wild game on a safari. Regarding disease...it is also unlikely you would be stricken by some incurable disease from your safari. Short answer is we don't take or send clients to places we would not send our family.

What does it cost to go on your safari? That depends on the accommodations and length of time. Generally speaking the Okavango Delta is the most expensive location with camps charging $2k to $3k per night. Uganda is the least expensive location we go. The Great Migration in Kenya safari has become more expensive. That is because the local government now charges $200 per day per person during the migration season. In 2026, our migration safari will be $8,900 per person for eight nights total. Our gorilla and chimp safari in 2025 is $6k for six nights. Gorilla permits are $800 per day per person. But, we can meet nearly any budget for a safari.

Would I save money booking my own safari? Perhaps. But our camps will charge you the rack rate. We have special rates with camps and the difference between the rack rates and our rates are where we make money. Also, the rate you would be quoted probably doesn't include all the extras we include.
