Victoria Falls/Chobe/Okavango 2024

Dates:  May 6-14 - 7 spots available

April 28-May 5 Full (note this week we are on the houseboat)

Itinerary:

Day 1 - Arrive in Victoria Falls and be transported to the Ilala Lodge. Ilala is a family owned boutique property within walking distance of the falls. We will take a sunset cruise on the Zambesi River.

Day 2 - Walk to the falls and do a self-guided tour or hire a tour guide. The Ilala adventure desk can schedule a helicopter tour over the falls. Or perhaps you want to do a whitewater rafting trip. I will most likely schedule a presentation by Dr. Greg Rasmussen. He is the world’s foremost expert on African painted dogs.

Day 3 - We will be picked up at the Ilala and driven across the border to Botswana. It’s a 90 minute drive to the Pangolin Lodge. We will take morning and afternoon game drives in custom photo boats or Land Cruisers. The Lodge has a sunken blind for viewing and photographing wildlife that comes to a water hole on the propery. There is a full bar with excellent wines included in our package. There is plenty of time to interact with the Pangolin photo hosts and edit pictures.

Day 4 and 5 - We will wake early for a light breakfast and then head to the dock to board the photography boat or drive our Landcruiser to the Chobe National Park. After the morning game drives we will return for a nice brunch. We can edit images or relax by the pool. Around 3 pm we will have a snack and head out for the afternoon game drive. We will stay out to see the sunset before returning to camp. A delicious dinner will be served at Pangolin Lodge under the night sky.

Day 6 - After a morning game drive we will have breakfast then return to the lodge. We are transported to the Kasani airport for our flight to the Delta. We arrive to Footsteps Camp. We have two land-cruisers available to us while at Footsteps. A chef will prepare our meals. Laundry service is available free of charge.

Day 7 and 8 - Morning game drives in vehicles to hopefully find leopards, painted dogs, lions and cheetah. Walking safaris with an armed guide are offered at Footsteps. The camp is all ours, so we have flexibility for our game drives.  Day 8 same as before.

Day 9 - After a morning game drive, we will eat breakfast and fly to Maun for our flights home.
