Frequently asked questions
When people ask if Africa is safe, they may be referring to crime, wildlife, or health concerns.
Crime: We carefully select destinations, lodges, and routes that we trust completely. In fact, we only take guests to places we would confidently send our own family. For a more detailed perspective on safety in Kenya, Read our article: Kenya Is Too Dangerous?
Wildlife: While Africa is home to incredible wildlife, serious incidents involving safari guests are extremely rare. Following your guide's instructions and lodge protocols ensures a safe and enjoyable experience.
Health: The risk of contracting a serious illness while on safari is very low. We provide guidance on any recommended vaccinations or precautions before your trip, helping you travel with confidence.
In short, your safety is our highest priority, and we take every precaution to ensure a secure and unforgettable journey.
Safari pricing varies depending on your destination, accommodations, and trip length.
Generally speaking:
Botswana's Okavango Delta is our most premium destination, with camps often ranging from $2,000–$3,000 per person, per night.
Uganda offers some of the best value experiences, particularly for gorilla and chimpanzee trekking.
Kenya's Great Migration safaris have increased in cost due to conservation and park fees, which currently reach $200 per person per day during migration season.
As an example:
Our 2026 Great Migration Safari is priced at $8,900 per person for 8 nights.
Our Gorilla & Chimpanzee Safari starts at approximately $6,000 per person for 6 nights.
Most importantly, we can design an itinerary to suit a wide range of budgets and travel styles.
Possibly, but not always.
Many camps charge direct-booking guests their standard rack rates. Through our long-standing relationships and preferred partnerships, we often secure preferential rates and added value that are not available to the public.
In addition, our safaris typically include services, support, and experiences that many independently booked itineraries do not. We handle the planning, logistics, and details so you can focus on enjoying your adventure.
We do not book international flights from the United States to Africa. However, we are happy to assist with route recommendations, airline suggestions, and advice on finding the best fares.
Our hosted safaris are intentionally kept small and personal. Most departures include between 8 and 12 guests, allowing for a more intimate experience and greater flexibility in the field.
The earlier, the better.
Many of Africa's finest camps have limited availability and often sell out well in advance. We recommend reserving your safari 12 to 18 months ahead of travel whenever possible.
Yes, we do.
Credit card payments are subject to a processing fee of approximately 3–4%, which is passed through at cost. We also offer secure bank-to-bank transfers, as well as payment options such as Zelle and Venmo for deposits, which do not incur additional fees.
